New e-Book and Video Playlists by safetyBUILT-IN!

10 Things Leaders Absolutely Must Know to Plan for Sustainable Safety Culture ChangeWe are proud to announce the release of the latest addition to our wildly popular “10 Things” e-book library: “10 Things Leaders Absolutely Must Know to Plan for Sustainable Safety Culture Change“!

Safety-culture change is not something to be taken on in a haphazard way. Getting it wrong not only sets a bad precedent for changes in the future, but also results in increased employee resistance, cynicism and frustration. This e-book is the first of a two-volume set on how to lead your organization through a successful safety-culture change. It addresses some important things to consider in the planning stages of that change initiative, while the soon-to-be-released companion volume deals with the actual change process itself.

The new e-book is available for $9.95 through our online store.  While there is no firm date set for the release of the companion volume, we anticipate its availability no later than mid-May. Stay tuned!

New Video Playlists Available!

In addition to the new e-book, we have also added video playlists on various topics related to building and leading safety culture.  All titles are available through our online store. Playlists include:

core-valuesLeading Safety as a Core Value: ($19.95) What do we really think and believe about safety? Is it a compliance regulation that we follow and enforce, or is a culture that we live and lead? This playlist covers some of the more common mistakes in leading safety culture, and suggests ways to rethink how we are leading that culture. Video excerpts taken from a live session of our two-day safety-leadership workshop, “From Compliance to Culture.”

safety-coachingCoaching Safety Performance: ($19.95) Safety leadership must be reinforced through coaching, and coaching must be done in a way that transfers ownership for performance and behavioral changes to the person who is being coached. This playlist covers a coaching method that starts with a concrete goal and ends with a commitment for improvements in levels of performance. Video excerpts taken from a live session of our two-day safety-leadership workshop, “From Compliance to Culture.”

safety-meeting-tipsLeading Effective Safety Meetings and Safety Talks: ($19.95) Some are certainly better than others, but most are still pretty bad. We’re referring to safety meetings, of course, and the way they’re conducted. Too often, meeting leader end up “reading” the meeting instead of “leading” the meeting. So what’s the best way to conduct these meetings? View this video playlist to find out!

leadership-stylesUsing Leadership Styles to Lead Safety Culture Situationally: ($19.95) There are six leadership styles that we can exercise in various ways to help us drive a safety culture. This playlist takes a look at the characteristics of each style and how it can advance or hinder your safety culture. Video excerpts taken from a live session of our two-day safety-leadership workshop, “From Compliance to Culture.”

employee-engagementBuilding Safety Culture Engagement: ($19.95) One key to building a stronger safety culture is to first build levels of employee engagement. An engaged employee thinks and acts like an owner, and because of that they not only remain safer on the job, but they are also much more likely to help you lead a safety culture. This playlist explores how to use the drivers of engagement to strengthen your safety culture.
