Burning Man does not possess super-human strength. Nor does he harness the power of invisibility, anti-gravity, or special fighting skills. Instead, his “super powers” consist of his ability to convince otherwise rational people to walk over hot coals using nothing but their bare feet.

Who is Burning Man, you might ask? You may know him by his secret identity, Tony Robbins, the popular self-styled self-help guru extraordinaire!

FCTC OnlineI first wrote about Burning Man four years ago when nearly two dozen people suffered severe burns at his San Jose “firewalking” event in 2012, during which witnesses reported hearing “screams of agony” as participant after participant made the decision to walk down a stretch of hot coals during the hour-and-a-half event.

Well, he’s done it again. Just a few days ago Burning Man once again successfully duped convinced another unsuspecting group of followers to burn their feet on hot coals (more than 30 of which were treated for those burns afterwards) “as a way of conquering their fears.”

Ironically enough, as one victim of Burning Man astutely put it, “I’m not even sure I could do it again, because now I have this massive fear of fire.”
