Breaking Barriers to Greater Safety Performance in Your Safety CoachingOver the past several issues of Recordable Insights we’ve looked at some of the causes of what we’ve termed “coaching interference.”  Remember, “coaching interference” can be anything that stands in the way of a person making strides toward improving safety performance and behaviors in a safety culture.  Along with the causes of interference, we also looked at some ways to mitigate their negative impact on the performer.  To round out that discussion, we’ll revisit a few coaching guidelines that should help eliminate any residual “coaching interference.”

    Is there a website that allows me to preview your books.
    I would be interested in looking at different aspects of safety models, but some books I have seen are mostly fluff. (not saying yours are, but I would like to look under the hood first)

    • Hi Larry. All of our e-books are thematic compilations of past article we have done. For instance, our e-book on Effective Safety Meetings is a compilation of all our past articles on how to do safety talks more effectively. They are intended to be practical (“how to”) rather than theoretical. We don’t have a preview per se, unless you count the weekly blog postings as a preview of sorts.

Hi Eric no real surprises here, and this model is simply good planning and communication, I would be quite comfortable in stating if your looking at the information here and going from a safety perspective we don’t do this well, the likelihood of this being a core weakness within the business and it affecting every facet of you business is most likely the case. Why? Those who drive production are also critical in driving quality and safety. I believe they are inseparable. a great get back to basics philosophy any business can use to it’s advantage to engage and improve business. Clear visions, clear communication, collaboration about the expectations and how they will be achieved and measured.
